ORCAS Place 3rd at State Championships
The Rochester Swim Club ORCAS wrapped up their 2011-2012 competitive season by participating in the 2012 Minnesota Short Course Age Group State Championships held at the Rochester Recreation Center on March 15-18. The Orcas qualified over 70 individual swimmers and an additional 31 swimmers supplemented the relays. The Orca swimmers went head to head with the best teams in Minnesota and swam an impressive 68% best times and earned in 52 new Central Zone qualifying times. When the dust settled the Orcas scored 1,856.50 points and posted a very respectable 3rd place over all finish just behind the Edina Gators ( 2,615.50) & the Aquajets (3,744).
The following swimmers had outstanding performances and were named Swimmers of the Meet:
8 & U – Owen Nord, Anna Ogren, Caroline Schultz, & Annie Wu
9-10 – Thatcher Dowdy, Lexi Freeman, Norah Grimes, Ben Johnson, Monet Meyer, Nick Pittner, Aidan Shue & Olivia Wilcox
11-12 – John Paul Becker, Anna Cook, Trevor Pfizenmaier, Zachary Pfizenmaier & Will Pittner
13-14 – Sophia Alfred, Hannah Baratz, Will Cima, Sam Hayward, Joe Herrli , Alex Kofler, Eva Koplin & Kelli Nordquist

Speedo Results
At the Speedo Champions Series in Pleasant Prairie, WI, the Orcas had an equally good result. The Orcas finished 1st overall in the Combined Team Standings and 2nd overall in both the Women's and Men's Team Standings. Competing against athletes from the University of Wisconsin/Madison, Harvard University, and the Peddie School, the Orcas hung tough throughout the meet and that tenacity provided an incredible result. Senior State Meet
Congratulations to all Orca Senior Swimmers who participated in the two championship meets offered last weekend. In Minneapolis, Coach Tom led the Orca Seniors to a 10th Place Division "AAA" finish and an 18th place overall finish. For More information check out the posted results.

AB Finals Results
The Rochester Swim Club ORCAS hosted and participated in the Minnesota AB finals meet at the Rochester Recreation Center over the weekend of March 2-4. The 165 ORCAS that participated posted 65% new best times, achieved 115 new A times and 72 new State qualifying Champ times. No team scores were kept.
The following individuals had fantastic performances and were named swimmers of the meet:
8 & U- Grahame Grinnell, Ava Gustafson, Allie Hathaway, Siri Koplin, Anjli Madde, Dominic Mullen, & Anna Ogren.
9-10 – Kenzie Below, Brady Boie, Emma Hathaway, Monet Meyer, Juan Pablo Montori, Jack Pacchetti, Grafton Parlette, Morgan Radtke, Gabe Wilhorn & Marcus Yao.
11-12- Brooks Boie, Mara Caples, Brendan Chen, Eli Church, Amber French- Farley, Meghan Grimes, Jessica He, Grace Heller, Timmy Hough, Sam Johnson, Elie Mer, Victor Montori, Nathaniel Shin, Brian Swancutt, Peter Tweed, & Aashish Yadav.
